Wondering

Hi, everybody! How are you doing? I hope you're all keeping well, and enjoying your courses.

I got this poem by Dorothy Parker (better known as a short story writer) at a session by Alan Maley, at a conference. It's called "Unfortunate Coincidence".

By the time you swear you're his
Shivering and sighing
And he vows his passion is
Infinite, undying,
Lady, make a note of this:
One of you is lying.

Sarcastic, eh? But sometimes true, unfortunately!

Anyway, do try to touch base once in a while...
All the best for all of you,

Linda

  1. Although I try to figure out the underlying meaning behind the lines, the poem is too dense for me to understand. Who's he? What is sarcastic?

  2. Hi, Santiago,

I posted a comment yesterday, but it seemsit never got there. The point was that the author is sceptical about undying love, and promises about it!

Hope your things are going better than in the poem!

    Linda
